The Sunday Million is one of the world's biggest weekly poker tournaments and PokerStars flagship event since 2006. It offers a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool every single Sunday.

This year we’re celebrating its 18th anniversary, and for a limited time, we’re giving all new players who make their first deposit a unique chance to battle it out with other new players in the New Player Showdown Freeroll for a chance to win entry to the Sunday Million for a full year.

52 Sunday Million entries. $52,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools. There are four packages worth $5,668 each up for grabs until April 4.

How it works

Complete up to three different tasks at the poker tables within each qualification period and get an entry into that week’s $10,000 New Player Showdown Freeroll.

The number of tasks you complete will determine how many chips you start the freeroll with and what additional rewards you will get.

There are four tournaments in total meaning that you have up to four chances to win the top prize.

Can you be crowned a New Player Showdown champion?

Getting involved is easy. Once you’ve created your PokerStars account and made your first deposit, simply go to your Challenges Window and click ‘Start’ to opt-in.

Then, complete the below tasks during the qualification period:

Task 1 (10,000 starting stack): Play 5 x Spin & Go, Sit & Go or Multi-Table Tournaments (minimum $0.25 buy-in)
Task 2 (20,000 starting stack, plus a $5 Spin & Go ticket): Play 5 x $5 Spin & Go ($5 buy-in)

Task 3 (30,000 starting stack, plus an $11 Power Path Step 3 ticket): Play 3 x Power Path Step 3 tournaments ($11 buy-in)

Tickets to the New Player Showdown Freeroll will be issued with the corresponding starting chip stack the day before the freeroll takes place. You need to login and register to the tournament to participate.

The winner of each freeroll will receive free tickets to play the Sunday Million every week for a full year. Remaining prizes in each freeroll will consist of tickets and satellite tickets for the 18th Anniversary Sunday Million tournament on April 7.

What is being offered

Players who make their first real money deposit during the offer period, as specified below, can qualify for up to four New Player Showdown Freeroll tournaments. Winner of each New Player Showdown Freeroll tournament will receive one year worth of tickets for the Sunday Million tournament, worth $5,668.

When is the offer being conducted

This offer runs from 04:00 ET on March 7, 2024 until 23:59 ET on April 4, 2024. During the offer period there are four qualification periods as follows:

Qualification Period 1: 04:00 ET on March 7, 2024 until 23:59 ET on March 14, 2024

Qualification Period 2: 00:00 ET on March 15, 2024 until 23:59 ET on March 21, 2024.

Qualification Period 3: 00:00 ET on March 22, 2024 until 23:59 ET on March 28, 2024.

Qualification Period 4: 00:00 ET on March 29, 2024 until 23:59 ET on April 4, 2024.

Who is eligible to take part and how can you qualify

The offer is only available to players who have never made any real money deposit at PokerStars.  

To participate in the offer, players must:

Make their first real money deposit of $10 or more in the Cashier.
Opt-in to the offer via the Challenges Window. Only one initial opt-in is required for the duration of the offer.
Complete up to three tasks by playing selected poker tournaments during a qualification period to receive a New Player Showdown Freeroll ticket. Any tournaments played prior to opting in will not count towards the progress.

Wagering requirements and limitations by type of game

Tasks can only be completed by playing selected real money poker tournaments and in the order, as specified bellow.

Task 1: Play 5 x Spin & Go, Sit & Go or Multi-Table Tournaments of your choice with minimum buy-in of $0.25.
Task 2: Play 5 x $5 Spin & Go’s.
Task 3: Play 3 x $11 Power Path Step 3 tournaments.

Players can track their progress towards completion of each task in their Challenges Window.

Claiming and redeeming the offer

Players will receive a New Player Showdown Freeroll ticket provided they complete at least one task during a qualification period. The number of completed tasks during each qualification period will also determine the starting chips stack in the New Player Showdown Freeroll tournament, as specified below.

Task 1 completed = 10,000 chips starting stack
Task 2 completed = 20,000 chips starting stack
Task 3 completed = 30,000 chips starting stack

In addition to the New Player Showdown Freeroll ticket, players who complete two tasks during any qualification period will also receive a $5 Spin & Go ticket. If they complete three tasks during any qualification period, they will also receive a $11 Power Path Step 3 ticket.

All New Player Showdown Freeroll tickets will be credited inside a Chest together with the corresponding starting chip stack on the day before the New Player Showdown Freeroll tournament takes place. Players will need to open the Chests to claim their tickets and manually register for the New Player Showdown Freeroll tournament. Unopened Chests and New Player Showdown Freeroll tickets expire at 15:30 ET on the day of the respective New Player Showdown Freeroll tournament.

New Player Showdown Freeroll tournaments will run weekly during the offer period, as follows:

March 16, 2024 at 15:00 ET
March 23, 2024 at 15:00 ET
March 30, 2024 at 15:00 ET
April 6, 2024 at 15:00 ET

Positions and prizes in the New Player Showdown tournaments are as follows:

March 16:

Sunday Million Anniversary tickets can be used to register and play the Sunday Million Anniversary tournament on April 7, 2024.

Sunday Million Anniversary satellite tickets can be used to register and play the Sunday Million Anniversary satellite tournaments, with buy-ins corresponding to the value of the ticket.

Spin & Go tickets can be used to register and play Spin & Go tournaments, with buy-ins corresponding to the value of the ticket.

Power Path Step 3 tickets can be used to register and play Power Path Step 3 tournaments.

Any Spin & Go and Power Path tickets awarded as part of this offer will expire in 14 days.

Tickets awarded in New Player Showdown Freeroll tournaments will expire on April 7, 2024, except the Sunday Million Package which will expire 400 days after being issued.

All tickets awarded as part of this offer are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash, T-Money or other tickets.

Players can check any tournament tickets they have, alongside information on expiry dates and more by going to ‘My Rewards’ menu and selecting ‘Tournament Tickets’.
