Abandonments/Walkovers

All bets will be voided when the following occurs:

  1. The Race or Race Meeting is abandoned
  2. The race is declared void by The Stewards
  3. Any race which is a Walkover with One Runner, regardless of the number of original declarations and not including Ante-Post bets

Re-Scheduled Races or Meetings

If a race or race meeting is scheduled to later that same day, or changed to a different surface, then all bets will stand. Where a race or meeting is re-scheduled for another day then all bets will be void though Ante-Post bets are dealt with differently (as set out in The Ante-Post section below).

Acceptance of Bets

We accept bets on all racing covered by SIS, which will include all UK & Irish Meetings complemented by meetings from France, Germany, Dubai, South Africa & South America; we also offer selected Major Races from Hong Kong, Japan, America & Australia. All bets are accepted subject to the Rules of Racing in the respective Country.

Where a result is amended after the official result on the day, commonly known as ‘weighed-in’, for example as a result of a successful appeal, the amendment will not count for settlement purposes.

Card numbers, Jockey Silks plus any similar supporting information are posted as a guide only, with bets being both placed and settled on the named horse. We do not guarantee the accuracy of this information and use of it to place bets is entirely at your own risk.

All selections will have at least one option of price available which will determine the final settlement, the price types are Early Price (EP), Board Price (BP), Starting Price (SP), Ante-Post (AP). If no SP is returned by the respective authority, and no price has been taken then bets will be settled at the last BP show, if there was no show then bets will be settled at the last EP. In the extremely rare occurrence where at no time did we quote a price we would settle at the respective Tote Dividend if there was one available.

In all instances other than for Ante-Post bets, where a price is taken and there are subsequent Non-Runners, or SP Bets made where a late withdrawal results in no new market being formed, then any winnings will be subject to a Tattersalls Rule 4 deduction. The deductions are linked to the price at the time of withdrawal and are listed in the table below:

Ante-Post

Ante-Post bets are taken on the outcome of future races, these bets are taken on the basis of all-in, run or not, entered or not. Ante-Post wagers are deemed a loser if the selection does not enter, take part or is withdrawn at any stage. Ante-Post bets on horses who are declared at final declaration stage, but are balloted-out due to race conditions, will be void.

If a race is abandoned or postponed to another date at the same track with the same entries then Ante-Post bets will stand, however If any of the following occur then Ante-Post singles will be voided:

  1. The selection is balloted out at final declaration stage
  2. The race is abandoned or declared void
  3. The race venue is altered after the time of bet placement
  4. The race is abandoned but re-opened to new entries

Related Contingencies

Ante-post multiples involving the same selections in different events, where the outcome of one event would influence the betting market of another, are known as related contingencies. We endeavour to restrict the placing of such wagers in advance. However, should such a bet be taken in error it will be settled at a special price determined by us which will use current prices after initial events are settled.

Each-Way Betting

Each-way bets are settled at industry standard terms as follows:

  • Handicaps with 16 or more runners one quarter the odds first four Places
  • Handicaps with 12-15 runners one quarter the odds first three Places
  • All other races with 8 or more runners one fifth the odds first three Places
  • Races with 5-7 runners one quarter the odds first two Places
  • Races with Less than 5 runners the Place money is invested to Win

The Each-Way bets are settled as per the final number of runners who actually race and not the number of runners at the time of bet placement, particularly relevant when a race becomes four runners or less where the place part of an EW bet is converted to a Win Only bet.

Double Result

All bets placed on UK & Irish racing will benefit from our Double result concession, this means that we will pay on The Official Winner on the day, the final result after the Weigh-In, and we will pay on the horse which is First Past The Post regardless of any amendment to the result. Bets placed on Non UK/Irish racing will be settled on the official result only. The First Past the Post concession does not apply in the following scenarios:

  1. The selection had taken the wrong course
  2. The selection had carried the wrong weight
  3. The jockey failed to weigh in
  4. Ante-Post bets are not covered
  5. Forecast/Tricast are not covered
  6. A Void race
  7. All Tote/Pari-Mutuel/Pool bets
  8. A winner called in error by the judge or commentator

Betting Without

We will offer Betting Without named selections, usually the favorite. In these instances the named without selection is ignored for settlement purposes. Dead Heat rules will apply and EW terms will be based on the number of runners starting the race but excluding the named selection. In the event of Non-runners then Rule 4 will apply based on the price in The Betting Without market.

Match Bets

We will offer match bets where odds are offered around the finishing position of two selections, in these scenarios the following rules apply:

  1. Dead Heat Rules apply
  2. One of the two selections must complete the race for bets to stand
  3. Should neither selection complete the course then all bets will be void regardless of when either selection departed from the race
  4. Both selections must be deemed official runners in the race for bets to stand
  5. Double Result does not apply, the winner will be the winner after weigh-in

Place Only Betting

Place Only bets are not accepted unless specifically advertised, or unless they are Tote bets. Any place only bets accepted in error will be void win or lose. In Each Way bets if the amount staked on the place part of the bet is greater than the win part, the excess place stake will be made void. The number of places paid will be in accordance with our normal Each Way place terms for horse racing.
