LYLES (5) returned from a freshen up with a stylish effort up in grade last start. Beaten by a horse that day who has won again since. A cosy draw only adds to the appeal. MURAL CROWN (2) profiles as a major player after a close-up effort in a city race first up. Showed potential aplenty last prep and drawn to get cover early. Up in trip rates highly. ELLIPSIS (6) is already a two-time winner and her first-up win has been form-franked this week. Tough weight for a filly but deserves a crack at a slightly longer trip. POWER BALLAD (3) resumes back in grade coming off a recent trial win. Big weight a slight query. MERCANTILIST (9) jumps sharply in grade but did what few do by winning on debut. Has been freshened since and sits on the each-way line.
