Strictly speaking, MONTANNA shouldn't trouble Bardenstown Lad on these terms but the latter looks risky on the back of a sketchy round of jumping at Stratford. Any shortcomings in that department here could open the door for Montanna, who will find this easier than the race he recently contested at Cheltenham. Knockmoylan is best of the rest.

Point winner in February and followed up back under Rules in a 3m Fakenham hunter later that month. Two of his 3 subsequent starts have been in top hunters at the big festivals and, though a shade disappointing back in calmer waters at Stratford last time, he will have a huge chance if on-song.

Fairly useful chaser at his best in Ireland and multiple point winner, including on his first start for over 2 years in February. Followed up in a hunter at Exeter the following month but that was a match and he was pulled up at Cheltenham next time.

Fairly useful at best for Peter Bowen back in 2021. Three-time winner in points for this yard and while he struggled back in this sphere at Cheltenham recently, this 11-y-o has to enter calculations with his sights now lowered.

Hurdles/chase winner Henry De Bromhead but no show final 3 runs for that yard last year and there has been little to shout about in a handful of appearances between the flags for new yard.

Hunter chase winner in Ireland in May 2023 but offered little for Jamie Snowden last year and no show in 4 points since joining present yard.

    Verdict
Finally opened account between the flags last month but it's worrying that it took him 21 attempts to get his head in front in that sphere, and he was safely held in a couple of bumpers for Roger Teal back in 2021 (unraced under Rules since).
