COLD GIN (11) was ridden with more aggression last start and held on well for second over 1100m at Canterbury. New to this trip but she was strong at the end of 1200m on debut two back so expect her to run it out. Progressing nicely and shouldn't be a maiden for much longer. HEREWARD (1) was unwanted in betting but led for home and almost stole it only to find the talented Aerodrome a shade too good on debut last time out over this trip at Hawkesbury. Meets a weaker field today and looks very tough to stop, with the wide alley the only negative. SOUTHERN PRINCE (7) resumed with a tidy third behind subsequent Group Three winner Beadman over 1250m at Newcastle recently. Might have a bit of improvement to come second-up with the tongue tie going on. ALL STAR (8) strips fitter today and can improve over a bit more ground. Snitzel debutant INQUISITOR (4) has trialled quietly for the Waller camp. Early betting suggests he has more to offer.
