Gosford

Returns from a lengthy spell after five months off and has won two trials since last racing, including one at Gosford two weeks ago. She ended last campaign with a heavy-ground Randwick-Kensington failure in FM BM64 company, beaten over 19 lengths, after an earlier favourite defeat at Hawkesbury. Class-exposed and profiles as the one to beat from the rails draw.

Closed strongly for second at Newcastle last start, beaten a length and a half by Zouboy after being held up passing the 300m. That followed a determined Mdn win at Tuncurry, where he beat Wan Lost by just over half a length. He is third-up, proven around 1200m and holding form well, though barrier 8 means he may need things to unfold cleanly. Draw is the query, but his current form reads well enough to be right in this.

Has been consistent without quite putting a race away, finishing fourth at Hawkesbury last start after being close enough on the turn but unable to improve. His Newcastle third prior came in a small field, again with market respect. The win edge is the knock, but he rates strongly.

He did win a Hawkesbury trial a few weeks ago and has placed at around 1200m, so there is some freshen-up interest. Recent race form was plain, so he is more a minor hope than a standout.

Was last of nine at Newcastle first-up, beaten eight and a half lengths after racing keenly early and making no impression late. His Mdn win at Kembla Grange earlier in the year came over 1500m as favourite, so there is some ability there, but he is yet to win at around 1200m. Earlier Mdn win was over 1500m, so this 1200m contest asks for a sharper performance.

Resumes after three months off following a flat Hawkesbury sixth before the break, beaten seven and a half lengths by Pierro Lad after making no ground. His Newcastle run prior was also below his best, yet he has one win and one place from two starts at this track and has won at this track and distance. Recent form was plain, but he can run into the placings.

Backs up after finishing fifth at Wyong last week, beaten three lengths at big odds, with a block early noted by stewards. His Kembla run prior was similar, working home only fairly after being steadied near the 900m. Still a low win-rate profile, so minor money looks the target.

Finished last at Hawkesbury first-up in a FM BM64, beaten just over eight lengths at big odds after settling rearward and never threatening. She was also well beaten there start prior, with only minor interference near the 400m before weakening further. Significant improvement is required.
